I do recommend Hai Au bus company which is the most reliable company for the bus from Hanoi to Hai Phong and verse.

Check out VEXERE – an online local platform for booking bus tickets from Hanoi to Haiphong. However, login the direct website of the bus company and book the ticket but the problem is that they don’t have English interface. 

Can I book a Grab from Hanoi to Haiphong?

Yeb, it is easy to  Grab car from Hanoi to Haiphong. But the drivers expect direct booking because of high commission. Don’t be a surprise if your booking has been canceled.

Please check which bus station to drop you off in Haiphong. It seems that Vinh Niem bus terminal in Haiphong is the closest one. However, ask if there is a place to be dropped off closer to your hotel.

Not safe at all, since the national road number 5 has lots of big trucks and containers, also motorbike riders going on the opposite site of the road. This route is recommended for well- experienced riders.

Be sure you put on a full-head helmet and a valid international riding license

Route : From Hanoi Old Quarter,  drive past Chuong Duong bridge,, then onto old National road number 5 to reach Hai Phong

If you just decide at once and don’t want to wait so long for a private car to show up then taking a taxi from Hanoi to Haiphong is an option or Electric taxi called TaxiXanh by Vinfast . The drivers of this company do speak English. Whilst there is a language barrier if you try Mai Linh taxi or Taxi Group. The concept is to drive from A to B, without sightseeing.
