Just a couple of hundred meters from the Tam Coc pier, Chinh Thu restaurant is a Vietnamese-friendly restaurants for local tourists who want to try out “Thit De” aka goat meat. 

It will be busy at the weekend since locals travel quite often during the weekend. The service may not a level for Western standards but good for those who want to try out authentic local specialties. It isn’t the right choice if you are looking for various choices that are not goat meat.

Hai Linh restaurant

If you want a place to eat authentic Vietnamese breakfast, go for Hai Linh restaurant on the main road of Tam Coc, which is close to Farther cooking restaurant and Tam Coc Pier. Their breakfast menu includes Pho soup, Bun Bo (Vietnamese rice vermicelli with beef), Bun Moc (Vietnamese mushroom and meatball noodle soup).

Honestly, I have forgotten the name of this restaurant. If you choose Pho soup with beef for breakfast, go for it. I know Western tourists don’t usually eat soup in the morning. But from local perspective, Pho soup is a ubiquitous dish for breakfast. 

I would recommend “Pho Tai Chin” aka Medium-rare slices of beef with rice noodles, you can order some Quay – the long golden-brown deep-fried stripes of dough.
